These portraits navigate the boundary between realism and interpretation.

Created with black paint on unprimed natural materials such as sand, fabric scraps, or plaster, they depict highly detailed and emotionally compelling faces. A red brushstroke across the eyes draws attention while simultaneously creating a barrier. The eyes remain visible, yet the red line alters perception, intensifies emotions, and establishes a striking tension between expression and obstruction. Is it a symbol of societal censorship, or does it direct the necessary focus to the face?

Since 2021, the artworks have been developed in four evolving episodes. The first two parts are completely sold out. The third series was exhibited at Galerie Katapult in Basel, while the fourth was recently presented at an international art fair in Lisbon, where every single piece was sold—including to collectors from New York.
